Azure Key Vault service SLA raised to 99.99% from 99.9%

Azure Key Vault service is now even more resilient. The SLA for this service has been raised to 99.99%. Earlier this SLA was only 99.9%.

With this update, Azure Key Vault guarantees that valid Key Vault requests will have availability 99.99% of the time.

Let's understand what that change translates to. The permissible downtime or unavailability time has been reduced as follows.

• Daily: From 1m 26s to 8s
• Weekly: From 10m 4s to 1m
• Monthly: From 43m 49s to 4m 22s
• Quarterly: From 2h 11m 29s to 13m 8s
• Yearly: From 8h 45m 56s to 52m 35s

As you can see from the above numbers, even if the SLA doesn't look much bigger change, it actually is a very big difference in the allowed downtime.
