Finding certified VM SKUs in Microsoft Azure for SAP deployments

When dealing with the SAP deployments on Azure infrastructure you want to ensure that you select the VM SKUs that are certified by SAP. This ensures that your deployment is supported by SAP when you need it.

The Certified and Supported SAP HANA® Hardware are documented here: https://www.sap.com/dmc/exp/2014-09-02-hana-hardware/enEN/#/solutions?filters=v:deCertified;ve:24;range%23c:memorySize%23v:184cd506-70e0-43a7-b75b-67803ce28b06%23v:ms10

Note that the filters in the above link are set to memory size between 2800 GiB-4 TiB and the vendor is set to Microsoft Azure. You can alter the filters as per your requirements.

Microsoft has also documented SAP certifications and configurations running on Microsoft Azure here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/workloads/sap/sap-certifications

To look for the availability by the region of the SKUs for HANA Large Instances you can find those here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/workloads/sap/hana-available-skus

And finally, the SAP Note for the certified general VM SKUs can be found in note number 1928533 - SAP Applications on Azure: Supported Products and Azure VM types - SAP ONE Support Launchpad. The direct link to this SAP note can be found here: https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/1928533. Note that you will need an SAP ID to be able to view the SAP Note.

Hopefully, this information help you with the planning of the infrastructure in Azure for SAP deployments.
