If you are leveraging both Microsoft Azure and Amazon's AWS for the cloud, you now have AWS Cloud connector to view your AWS billing data, directly from within the Microsoft Azure portal. Let's check out how to set this up.

Start by navigating to the "Cost Management + Billing" section. Click on the "Cost Management" management option. In the new blade, click on the "Connectors for AWS (Preview)" option under the settings menu. You will see the option to configure the sync from AWS to Azure here by clicking on the "Add connector" button.

The option for Connection

Under basic settings, just provide a display name, management group and a subscription for the connector.

In the "AWS properties" section provide the value for:

  • Role ARN
  • External ID
  • Report Name

You need to take some steps in AWS to get these values. These steps are described in detail here: Create a role and policy in AWS for Billing Connector in Azure

Finally, review all the settings and create the connector. Now you can view all the cost and billing data for both Microsoft Azure and Amazon's AWS in one place.
